So far this pregnancy has been pretty much the same as my first. Slight nausea for the first 2-3 months (very manageable), loss of a waistline right away, extra chub on the tush and legs...yep, and we won't even talk about whats going on above the photo line, lol. I have found that with this being a second pregnancy, i am definitely feeling like i am not taking enough time to enjoy it. I know that it is because i spend most of my day caring for Nolan but i find it sort of sad and i hope that once i really start to show i can take some time to just enjoy this pregnancy. I thoroughly enjoyed being pregnant last time and i hope to get there again soon :)
On to the technical stuff...baby is apparently the size of an avocado this week and about 5 inches from crown to rump. I am pretty sure i have felt some fluttery baby movement which is a tad bit earlier than last time. At my last midwife appointment i got to hear the baby's heartbeat and that was definitely exciting. The routine 18-20 weeks ultrasound is scheduled for March 8th. With my next midwife appointment being the following Tuesday, we should find out the baby's gender then. We have our 3D/4D ultrasound booked for April 28th and that will be a fun time for the three of us to watch the baby move around and also confirm the gender ;) We are not sure when we will tell everyone if baby is boy or girl. We may end up waiting until after our 3D ultrasound...we'll see?
Below is a comparison of what i looked like at 16 weeks with Nolan and then what i look like today at 16 weeks with Baby #2. From looking at most of my belly shots from last pregnancy, it almost seems like i am roughly 4 weeks ahead of last time. Which is common for a second pregnancy. It is funny how your body quickly remembers how to do this thing even if your brain is a little worried its forgotten the rest, lol!
