The month of May really flew by. It was filled with birthday parties, a great visit from my dad and a wonderful little holiday for the 3+ of us ;) I also started putting the new nursery together, piece by piece, but i will save that for a different post.
We really enjoyed having my dad out for a few days. Nolan excitedly woke up Grandpa every morning. He just couldn't wait for his new playmate to come upstairs. Always calling out "grandpa" and making sure that he was always sitting near him. Lots of walks, lots of loader & dump truck playing, lots of trips to park. I think he wore Grandpa out! Nolan still thinks that every airplane he sees has Grandpa in it. Maybe one day soon again?
I got to enjoy not one but TWO Mother's Day brunches. After our 3D ultrasound in Vancouver we hit up The Boathouse at Kits Beach for a lovely brunch. Then on Mother's Day we enjoyed a sunny brunch on our own deck after church. I felt really lucky :) My boys surprised me with roses, an orchid (hopefully i won't kill this one) and a lovely card from all 3.
A few months ago we had planned a little getaway to Summerland Resort in Summerland, BC (what a name!) May long weekend came and we were off for a road trip. A lot less to pack up when you have a potty trained kid who sleeps in a big bed! We had a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen so we brought food for almost every meal. Sadly the weather didn't really cooperate but what can you expect for May? We really only had one day of sunshine so we took advantage and enjoyed as much of it outside as we could. On the not so nice days, Grant and I caught up on some of our end of season t.v. watching. We relaxed A LOT! And took a few drives here and there (Starbucks). I thoroughly enjoyed that Grant made the effort to take two "extra" days off. And since the weather wasn't great, we decided to go home a day early, only if he promised not to go back to work early too ;) We figured we had a lot to do at home too and we just weren't sure if we could relax anymore?
All in all, May was a whirlwind blast!
